elements; bespoke Hand Painted Shaker
Silestone Quartz with a Limed Oak Bar
Creating the perfect kitchen in a large space can often be as challenging as working within a confined space, as was the case with new, large extension in Southampton.
The owners were looking to create a sociable centrepiece to a large open plan entertaining space. They also required a lot of storage without lots of ‘cupboards ruining the design’. A clean and modern look which still retained the inviting feel of a classic sociable kitchen was the challenge for our designer, Michael.
Choosing to bring forward tall units and create a ‘hidden’ pantry was key to Michael’s design, which instantly solved storage issues. The symmetrical placement of appliances and open shelving was softer on the eye and is ideal in a large space that is also destined for family living. The curved island creates a showpiece element to the kitchen yet is also highly functional in a space that is surrounding by living area with the curves created a welcoming, soft transition into these spaces.
Hand painting the bespoke curved cabinets in contemporary colours was a modern take on a classic Shaker kitchen door. Incorporating a boiling water tap and pop up extractor kept the space uncluttered and clear of ‘industrial-looking’ appliances.
The End Result

We were impressed with everything, especially the design, the guarantee, the craftsmanship and the service.”
